See different ways to record and show off your family’s genealogy. Gather tips and clues from others. Join us if you are just beginning your family history journey or have been learning about them for years.
So everyone will have lots to look at, please bring your own charts, binders (1 or 2), family group sheets, reports of your genealogy program, pictures, and genealogy projects to share! Show us how YOU organize your research, or how you managed to knock down a brick wall! Books bring your family to life by telling us their stories!
Don’t worry if your work isn’t “finished”…..no one’s is!
Tables will be set up in the Gym to display what you choose to bring – and to see the work of others. Here is an opportunity to “Walk-About” the room, view others’ ways of doing things, ask questions, and start discussions. Bring your camera or phone.
The focus will be on where each of us is on our Family History Journey – whether you bring items to display or not, (but we hope everyone will bring SOMETHING!)
Each of us will hopefully come away with at least one new idea. Come be amazed by how many ways people express their family history. WALK-ABOUT!
The Genealogical Society General meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee. Feel free to drop in! Bring your friends as everyone is welcome. Come early and ask your burning genealogical questions of other members before the meeting.
We meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month, with a couple of exceptions. November's meeting is held on the 3rd Wednesday, due to Thanksgiving. There is no general meeting in May, due to our Annual Picnic, nor in December, due to the holidays and our Winter Holiday Party.
Annually, several of our regularly scheduled meetings have a certain focus: April, we hold our Annual General Meeting and Elections (but there's usually a presentation also); May of each year we hold an Anniversary Celebration or Annual Picnic; and in September, we have a workshop.
